FAQ

Pricing questions, answered

Everything you need to know about the fee, the split, and payouts.

How much does VoteNest cost?

There are no monthly subscriptions or setup fees. VoteNest applies a simple pay-as-you-go platform fee to paid voting: 15% when you run the event yourself, or 20% when you opt in to have VoteNest manage the voting for you. Free voting is always free.

When is the fee deducted?

The fee is deducted the moment a voter's payment is confirmed. Every transaction is split instantly — 85% (or 80%) is credited to your organizer earnings and 15% (or 20%) is the VoteNest platform fee. You see your net earnings in real time, per transaction.

What is the difference between self-managed and VoteNest-managed?

Self-managed (15%) means you set up your event, contestants, categories, and voting settings yourself. VoteNest-managed (20%) means our team handles the voting setup and oversight for you — ideal when you want us to run the voting end-to-end. You can toggle this per event when you create or edit it.

Can I change the fee model after I start?

You can switch an event between self-managed and VoteNest-managed any time before voting goes live. Once a payment is confirmed, that transaction's split is locked — it never changes, even at settlement.

Are there any hidden fees?

No. The only cost is the platform fee on paid voting revenue. Payment gateway fees (e.g. Paystack) are handled within the transaction. Free voting events pay nothing at all.

How do payouts work?

When a competition closes, an admin settles it and your net earnings are frozen and added to your wallet. You then request a payout (mobile money or bank transfer) from your Finance dashboard, and our team processes it.
